| There
are a number of competitions that club members can get involved in.
For the juniors there is the Junior Papillon Handler of the year, a competition organised through the Breed Council and managed by Irene Robb. Details can be found on the Junior Handlers page. The other very popular competition is the Northern and Eastern Counties Papillon Club Calendar competition. Each year the Club produces a very stylish calendar. A task managed admirably by Dorothy Simpson. The calendar consists of 12 beautiful colour photographs of Papillons (one for each month of the year) These calendars are fast becoming collectors items and orders for calendars are placed well before they are available for sale The photographs are submitted by Papillon owners between March and the end of June and they are all displayed at the Open Show in July. All the people who attend the Open Show are invited to vote for their favorite 12 photographs. After the show, the votes are counted and the 12 photographs with the most votes are are the ones that will appear in the following years calendar. What is so nice about this calendar is that it is not just of show dogs in show stance, but of delightful pets, playful puppies and much loved and treasured companions Anyone wishing to take part in this competition should send their photographs to Dorothy Simpson along with 50p per photo entry fee between March and the end of June, and please remember that copyright permission is required.
